Adopting this formula, the body starts responding, after excessive water loss due to diuretic action and starts retaining water within the body. The person who uses this method wants to escape the new water retention. As a result takes more drugs regularly, which ultimately creates an unavoidable cycle.Dehydration is the most common side effect of diuretics, which may turn into a life-threatening disease.

2. Laxatives: The work of laxative is to vacant the large bowel, which has almost no effect on weight loss. Actually the food and calories are already been absorbed in the small intestine before the laxative take effect. Like diuretics it expels the water and wastes from the body which ultimately creates a unavoidable cycle.

This way the excessive use can cause unpleasant side effects. The user becomes habitual for laxatives as he or she can not have bowel movement without taking it. As a result bowels may become permanently damaged, and in extreme cases can lead even to death. Also, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, constipation, bloody diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting are also common side effects that may occur after use of laxatives.

3. Slimming pills: Many of these pills promise amazing results. Some can be obtained only by doctor’s prescription (such as Xenical) which are under supervision. But many are slimming courses which can be purchased over the counter, these may certainly be harmful for a normal human body.

First class drugs are prescribed by the doctors only to obese people because they are very effective in stimulating weight loss. Their ingredients are very strong and taken only under medical supervision. Some weight loss pills and those include appetite suppressants, caffeine pills and herbal supplements. There are pills that contain combinations of two or more of the above components.

There are many side effects that may occur by weight loss or slimming pills without doctors supervision like – nervousness, hypertension, insomnia, hyperactivity, fatigue, dizziness, abnormal heart rhythms, headache, etc.

4. Ipecac syrup: Doctors prescribe this syrup to induce vomiting in case of poisoning. Many people use it to avoid over eating which is highly dangerous and leads to various diseases which may cause even death. It may cause breathing problems, chest pain, increased heart beat, etc.
